Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Commercial Litigation Associate with three years of experience to support its litigation practice in Short Hills. The ideal candidate will handle all phases of commercial disputes, from pleadings through trial, while collaborating with senior partners and managing client relationships.

Location

• Short Hills, New Jersey

Duties

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents
• Conduct discovery, including drafting requests and responding to opposing counsel
• Perform legal research and analysis on commercial law issues
• Prepare and argue motions in state and federal courts
• Assist in trial preparation, including witness preparation and exhibit organization
• Coordinate with clients, experts, and co-counsel
• Monitor case calendars and deadlines

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in commercial litigation
• Admission to the New Jersey Bar (active status)
• Proven ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and oral advocacy

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Active New Jersey Bar admission

• Advanced legal research (Lexis, Westlaw)
