Labor and Employment Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a skilled Labor and Employment Attorney to join their team in Las Vegas, Nevada. The ideal candidate will have experience in Nevada labor law and a passion for advocating employee rights within a dynamic, plaintiff-side litigation environment.

Duties

• Conduct legal research and draft employment-related pleadings.
• Propound and respond to discovery requests.
• Prepare for and attend depositions, mediations, and settlement conferences.
• Draft oppositions to motions and appear in court for hearings.
• Develop case strategies with the Managing Attorney.
• Evaluate and calculate damages for various claims.
• Maintain client communication and manage expectations.
• Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to meet deadlines.

Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing with the Nevada State Bar.
• 1-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in employment law or civil rights.
• Familiarity with Nevada labor and employment statutes.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain client relationships.
• Proactive, organized, and comfortable managing deadlines.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Nevada State Bar license.
