Workers Compensation Insurance Defense Attorney

Job Overview:

A respected and growth-oriented law firm is seeking an experienced and motivated Workers’ Compensation Insurance Defense Attorney to join its litigation team. This role involves managing complex workers’ compensation cases, collaborating with experienced attorneys, and working directly with firm leadership. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in workers’ compensation litigation, with a preference for experience handling Defense Base Act (DBA) claims.

Location:

• New Orleans, Louisiana

Duties:

• Manage a diverse caseload of workers’ compensation defense and employer liability claims

• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement documentation

• Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, depositions, and administrative hearings

• Provide strategic counsel on case valuation and litigation tactics

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Louisiana workers’ compensation laws and legal developments

• Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop and execute litigation strategies

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of litigation experience in workers’ compensation or related insurance defense

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• Experience with DBA (Defense Base Act) claims is a plus

• High professional standards and strong work ethic

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the State of Louisiana

• Good standing with the Louisiana State Bar
